Venture 600 vs 700

Going to check out some sleds today for my parents.

Where looking at 2004-06 Ventures.

We have narrow it down to two which are only 100$ difference in price.

One 2004 Venture 700 with 8000-9000km (4970-5592miles) dealer not exactly sure. Was originally a trade then a rental last year. Since I don't know the dealer I classify it has maintenance unknown.

The other one is a private sell. You can tell from talking with the owner he maintains it very well. It is a 2006 Venture 600 with 7000km (4350miles).

Would you guys talk a "chance" and get the 700 engine? Is it worth the extra 12hp?

for 100.00 it's worth it.With some minor fine tuning the 700 tripples are snappy and are bullet proof and one of the best engines yamaha made for dependability.

The 600 tripple is a great enginbe also. Both are great on gas.
Tuning in the jetting and my brothers old 700 got 17 mpg.
The venture won't do as good there's alot more weight and longer track but will still be good.

Thanks for your help pro116, I think. :)

We ended up getting the 600 as it was in better shape.

Now I'm trying to find some matching gray pain for the front A arms. Trying to make it shine.

Depending on how much you want to spend, you can either go to an automotive paint supply store(I believe you have Painter's Supply there) and they can match it well with PPG for you. Otherwise you can go the cheaper way and just get some aerosol but that won't have quite the gloss/shine that PPG or another premium brand would have. Good luck!!!
