I have a 02 Viper thats completly stock except for a 1 1/4" ripsaw track that was put on late last winter. My concern is it started to overrev to about 9200 RPM and the top end speed is way down. This all seemed to happen after the track was put in but everything looks fine, new belt was also tried.
I would'nt mind putting some kind of money into clutching for performance gains, but I want this overrev issue fixed at the same time. Just looking for a starting point and any clutching suggustions that works well with this sled.
Thanks Dan

my viper stock, had the same overrev issue that yours has. mine would scream at 9,000. to address the overrev isssue, you need to have more flyweight and/or a more aggressive helix (steeper finish angle). if i was you, i woud get ahold of some heavy hitters (48g base kit), and run 1/4" allen screw in heel, 3/8 steel bolt w/1 thick washer in middle hole, and 3/8 steel bolt w/1 thin washer in the tip. that's what fett bros' sheet says for ball park.
you could also try to get ahold of some 8dn-20's and try those. you might have to play around with different rivets to get the right rpms. its just easier to adjust bolts on the heavy hitters.

Just change the outer rivet to a 4.5 gram rivet, very common problem on a viper.
Thanks for the info. I'am going to try the 4.5 gram rivet first and see how that goes first. If that gets my RPM down around 8400 i'll be happy and a very cheap fix at that. If not, i'll be looking at some others options as mentioned. Thanks again for your input.
