Doesnt look like many guys jumping on the wagon. Thats what sucks around here is everyone has other stuff to do in the summer. I'm on here all year long. I dont know everything about the exciters yet but i'm putting an entire phazer top end on my 79 exciter. There is some info around here on it.

Well if you're putting a Phazer top end on it and Phazer carbs, it sounds to me like you need to look at Phazer jetting. Admittedly I'm not the guy to ask this question, but that would seem like a good place to start, depending upon what you're planning on using for pipe(s)? (Aaen will sell you one of his Phazer pipes in pieces!! Another 14 HP wouldn't hurt would it.)
Its been my dream to bolt a set these carbs on a 433 for a long time, so I'm curious how to set it up too. Good luck. G.

Hey Gorkon, the 14 hp you speak of? Is that what Aaen claims the phazer pipe will put out.

I'm debating on having my crank case fly cut to have the jugs set on it or just get a complete phazer engine and have my buddy that owns a machine shop just make new motor mounts for the phazer motor to set it in the exciter chassis.

This would seem to be the logical choice and and least labour intensive. Will the larger axial fan housing fit though? It is dimensionaly larger than than the 433. I've never actually sat down and measured everything, but I'm pretty certain that a Phazer engine would not fit into an early GP 440, but an Exciter might just work. G.

I'm debating on just picking up a phazer motor regardless since I need the top end and find out. I've had opsled send me the specifics of putting a phazer tope end on with dual carbs and pipes but i'm just checking all my bases.

Keep me posted on your progress. As I said earlier, I too am interested in doing as Opsled suggests in an early yamaha for a sleeper drag racer! I'm just quietly collecting pieces and info for now. G.
