Are you talking the Yamaha Sno-Scoot? if so, "supply and demand" is what makes them expensive. Alot of people looking for them for their kids, as a first sled. And not alot of good, running Sno-scoots still kicking around. $1,500-2,000 for a mini sled is a big price tag....but the demand is bigger than supply and that is what people are willing to pay.

There is a sno-scoot and a sno-sport.
One 80cc and one is 120cc's if memory serves me correct. Getting to be pretty rare now a days.

Sno-Sports are much harder to find. In good shape I would expect to pay $2000-$2500 for a Sport unless you get lucky and find a killer deal.
Sno-Scoots are a bit easier to find but you can still expect to pay $1200-$1800 for one in good shape.
I got lucky and found this one over the summer for $700. Electric start (with a new gel battery) and no cracks or tears. The track is perfect which used to be a concern but you can now get a aftermarket replacement. I hear they are expensive though.

Thanks.
Funny thing is, the guy selling it was moving (only about 15 miles) and didn't want to deal with it. He knew what it was worth.....He actually told me I could get $1500 for it any day of the week! My youngest one seen it (the little guy on the sled) and he whispered in my ear "Daddy, will you buy me that MoMo (short for snowmobile)"? How do you tell him no! Any way, now the leaves are turning and just like the rest of us he's itching for snow. About once a week I'll be working on something in the barn and he's right there with a rag in his hand polishing his sled!
viper tom, relish those times!now all i hear is hey dad can i have some money,or hey you got my sled ready!it wasnt always that way though.
holy smokes,i just noticed there is one in the classified section!

Even though they were small sleds and everybody wants them for kids these days, Yamaha intended them for adult riders. It was common to see them running around the pits at races. They should have had more speed and they would have sold better. With a 250cc engine the Sno-Sport would be a blast.
They make for a good "field sled" and would be fine on the kind of course that ATV's run on with twisties and berms. But not enough speed for trails.
The Sno-Sport was 125 cc's. I had one and did trail ride it a little. Was going to put in a 175 Tri-Moto engine I had, but never got around to it

If your still looking for one, I saw these on Hard Core today. They are priced on the high side but look in nice shape. G.B.
