I have a pair of 36mm flatslides i'm going to mount on my 84' Phazer. Ive heard you need to modify or switch the carb boots between the engine and the carbs so the new carbs will mount right, Has anyone heard what needs to be done or has anyone actually done this mod?

I didn't have any mounting problem....I put them on mine and the worked just fine on the stock boots...You will need throtle and choke from the original carbs (is the best way to do it) or try to rig the ones you have.......

By the way what kind of skid and drivers are you running...? I'm putting a 136 on mine and I'm trying to make it a smooth project...

The stock boots worked ok huh? What jets needles etc are you running I'm between 8000 - 11000 ft.
As far as the track goes you can use the stock skid and 8 tooth drivers up to 1 1/4 inch track. If you want to put a 1 1/2 paddle on you have to switch to 7 tooth drivers, lower gearing and mount some longer rear suspension brackets in the to account for the higher profile. I'm actually in the middle of doing that mod right now.

I'm running the stock pilots and stock needle position with 150 mains, No airbox. But your altitud will require diferent jets, Not sure wich ones....there is a few guys with mod phazer on the web site the might run high altitud jets, check with them...
