Hi,

Getting a great deal on a M7 Rear skid 153".
So havin' thoughts on putting on my Mountain Max 700.

Is this a good upgrade? Or what skid do you recomend?
I have a "released" 151" skid on my sled now! With out rods and Engans shocks.

Thx Rasmus

I have a friend who put a 153" M7 skid in his Viper and it worked well. I am not sure if it will work well with the 151 track. Maybe someone else could answer that question.

I used a 141, slid it back and used a 151" track. The guys that use the 153" slide it back and use a 162" track. Makes for a shallow approach angle, and helps my heavy pig SRX get up onto the snow nicely.

supposed to work well, in the process of doing the m7 install now. it is not a direct bolt in on a yamaha mtn sled. to keep geometry correct be prepared to do the following: move front mount forward 4+", relocate rear drop brackets, add spacers to front w arm(ac is 1/2" narrower at this point, rear pivot point is 3/4" wider, so when moving the rear mounts, adjust to accomodate wider skid. after this, i sure hope it works. you can alleviate some of the above mentioned issues depending on track choice. there again, track choice may also open another can of worms.

Ok,

So you guys think it's worth the money?
To make it fit I don't think would be such a problem.
Does it make a great diffrent? Will the sled behave more like a mountain sled?
The track will be my 151" that I have now. Have taken some measurements and it will fit.

Thx Rasmus

Cat skids are designed for a kick up tunnel but work well in the yamaha frame. Track will rub occasionally on the tunnel especially when going thru tight whoops or a ditch when the rear wheel is loaded but well worth the 30 lb weight loss of stock skid. Handling seemed to have improved in the powder and as for bottoming in the whoops I just pin it now!!
