Should you treat the o-rings with a sealant or grease? 80 srx. How high should the o-rings be above the cyl grooves? Yamigod are you out there? Thanks for any info.

mmmmmm grease works good... the only reason for anything, is to hold the @%&@#$% things in place while you put the head(s) on... i dont know how high they should be but i would highly suggest using new OEM ones... leaky head gaskets cause problems fast!! not that i have ever had one leak

you really dont use anyhting on them, however sometimes you get one thats been twisted in the package and has taken a set and wont stay in the groove, you can very lightly mear some yamabond on the groove to hold it in place.
the oring should just barely stick up above the groove as its designed(groove depth) to crush the oring so it expands into the void and applys pressure against the head, too small of a groove and it cuts the oring, too large and it doesnt seal aginst the head. I dont have a actual measurement off hand but could give it to you if needed. Were the cylinders sleeved by chance? is this why your asking?
