I Have A 98 Srx That Run "good" What Is A Good Compression Check For It They Where All The Same But I Got Beat By A Rebuilt Mm 600 (stock) Should I Do Rings This Year Or Is It In The Clutching... If So Someone Piont Me In A Direction... Thanks Guys

about the odom read 5600 but who knows when people ride without the hood i did sometimes last year when it was hot out... the rpms are about 81-8300 his was hittin 9700

If a 600 MM is revving at 9700 that is way too high. An older one with the twin should be around 7800 and newer ones with a triple around 8600. How deep was the snow? If it's powdery he will get you every time, but on a trail he shouldn't have a chance. I've got a 700 MM with pipes and I get smoked by my buddies stock SRX(unless there is more than 6" of fresh snow).

Look at the tech pages, Compression should be between 120 and 130.
If it has 5600 on the odometer, then I would change the rings. You might look at your clutches also for wear and alignment.

about 120-130 and check yur power vavles cables if one is unhooked or the cable broke your sled will go like shit...

i checked da tech pages and they told me how to do it but.... how many miles are you going to do if you keep it up very well?????

thanks i did some searches and found i was running about 5 milimeters fat on the oil cable and the pwr valves where about 4 mil out of adjustment... i hope it runs better this year... is that way out and should it be day and night or just some improvment???its been a while since ive been on here but now i know why its in my favorites .... you guys are great help i get all my info from here and its cool to know you can trust the info.... other sites have 5 diff replys for the same Q.....
