If you look closely, you can see what I see on a daily basis.. A neighbor of mine has a "Plymouth Superbird", in his garage, that he uses as a shelf for things. Clothes basket, medicine ball, rags ..etc. I keep trying my best, but to no avail. Maybe one day I can save this beauty, from the life it leads!!
Untill then....I sigh..

good luck landing it!! must know what he has and just wants to entice you a little bit! hehe!!

I,ve left notes on the door, in the mailbox.. I've talked to his daughter, who say's this is the 2nd "Bird" they've owned. The guy knows what he's got, but doesn't care if it's driven or not. In the 3 yrs, that I've been tortured by seeing it, it hasn't been moved once. Stuff just keeps piling up on it. I've even checked the "Superbird Registry" to see of it's on there, & it's not. I'm hoping persistence will pay off someday & this rare gem can be saved..

At least it's in a garage! Better than farmer freds drive shed complete with dirt floor. I know this isn't helpful to all you 'bird' fans, but I consider it a silver lining for you. LOL

I've been a mopar guy my whole life, my old man just retired for Chrysler and were working on bringin a burnt orange '70 Charger R/T back to life at the moment... I feel your pain, thats no way to treat a car like that, especially if its an original. I'd be tryin like hell to save that thing if I had to look at that everyday too, its definatly worth some loot either way. Good luck to you - hope you can save her one day. Like crewchief said - at least is not in a barn somewhere, that would be really sad.

Believe me, It kills me to see this car not even being enjoyed by it's owner. What a waste! Someday, maybe I can report back & say " I got it"!!

Keep in mind it may not be a REAL one. I don't know a single person that would treat a real one like that, so it might just be a clone. Especially so if he won't even talk to you about the car.
:dunno:

Granted an original "real" one would be an amazing find and worht a small fortune (and any one who treated on like that diserves to get the $h!t kicked out of them and their car taken away) but even the clones are still pretty sweet and are still worth a pretty penny

I already posed that question to his daughter, who told me they had purchased it from the original owners. At one time, quite a few years back, I had seen a "Petty Blue" one, on the road here. Wonder if thats the same one? Believe me.. I wont give up on this car.

Damn......I feel sorry for that car - and you - if that an original. Stay vigilant my friend. My hopes and prayers go out to the both of you that one day you will be able to save her. Good luck.

Phh-aaa-leezzze This is a Dodge were talking about here.
Not something worth getting worked up about.

Not a DODGE !!

Its a Plymouth SUPERBIRD !!

While in the big scheme of things, Bischof might be right..........

But in the scheme of the "Muscle Car" guys & era....

That car is REAL close to being "the holy grail" !!!

It is truely a shame to see a car of that stature being both neglected & abused. Anyone that knows & understand the history of the "Superbird"
will understand why it would hurt to see that car sit like that. Fortunately as was stated earlier, it is in "dry storage".

I would truely question it authenticity. Even though the daughter indicated it was purchased from the "original owner", ya still dont know if "that owner"
"built" it to be a clone.

Becuase of the crazy $$$ values & appreciation that has been happening during the last 5-8 years tied to the "specialty muscle cars", the odds of clones showing up have really increased.

On the other hand, if its the "real deal" the guy is either really stupid as to what he has or deserves to have his a$$ kicked for muscle car abuse !!

Ok I stand corrected, it's a Plymouth.

It's not like it's one of these.

My brother in law is doing some work on a maroon 56 Caddy convertable like this one that is completely original. My god what a thing of beauty. 6000 pounds of Detriots finest steel. This thing is longer than his Suburban.
