Well I just purchased a real clean 98 SRX that was Purchased originally from Hauck's all the updates were done on it by Hauck's! I purchased this sled to be used as a spare sled this winter but the more I look at it (its as clean as my 03 & 04 Prox's) and now I am looking forward to doing some U.P. riding on this SRX ! Here's my Questions
What can you guys tell me about this sled?
What should I look for? problems?
What is the stock gearing? Chain ?
What was the stock clutching setup?
Is there any where on the net to get any parts microfiche breakdowns?
I am removing and going through the suspension and Installing a new track from an 04 rx1 so I will be replacing all the jack shaft bearings and inspecting the grear/chain all moving parts! also getting the shock redone! The sled was never studded so I am going to be installing tunnel protectors while I have it apart!
Any info would be appreciated

I am riding in upstate New York with powder. i hav a 98. The stock track is crap. I put a 1" camplast on with 196 studs and have no prblems now.
Yes this is a realy nice sled.
If i remember right the gearing is 23/38 (1.65) and with the (`98 only) strong chain with 15 plates, newer model have 13plates.
Clutching: 8dn-00 weights, "green-green-green" primary spring.
"Red" secondary spring and 47 degrees cam.
The first ting about clutching on the `98 SRX is changing weights, the stock weights is not agressive at all.
Use 8BU-00 or 89A-10 weights.
