Was about to change the sliders (hyfax) when to my surprise I noticed my track inner lugs are shot one one side.

Then I found what I believe to be the culprit... the famous W arm is cracked. This is even after the original owner reinforced it.

One of the drive cogs tooth is chipped. Should I replace it? Can I buy just one drive cog?

Didn't feel like fixing the w arm to find out next year I ruined another good track. So I found myself a slightly used Bender Racing reaction suspension! jmp2204 was kind enough to offer to help me install it. What a generous guy!

Same thing happened to me PhatboyC at the end of last year. I broke the w-arm, front shock, track had some gouges, Brand new sliders were toast also. i relaced it all and since i had the bearing out for the drivers i installed a new one and the jackshaft bearing also. You might want to look at those bearings since your there.

Yep I'll be changing the jackshaft bearing while where at it for sure.

Might as well change the drivers too. Look like they have some wear.
I though I would just need to replace the one wheel sprocket? What is the wear on my other ones? (Never seen news ones that is why I ask.)

I just realize to remove the jack shaft I have to open the chaincase. Mind as well change the bearings in there also...

That skid looks sweet....Good luck witht he swap, post some pics when your are done to see how it looks and let us know how it works to...

If you want a set of driver I have one I will sell to you for $ 50. Thay came off a viper and are in very nice shape....

Dog - when you replace the drive shaft bearings put a grease zerk in the bearing cover that houses your speedo gear. Once you have it mounted back up pump the cover full of grease. I did this on mine to keep the water out of the drive shaft bearing on the clutch side and to keep the speedo drive key from rusting and twisting off. Got this idea from posts about the clutch side bearing rust problem and it works good.

I'm pissed. I don't like selling things that turn out like that. :whine:
W arm well could happen to anyone. But the track missing drive lugs, was that from the W arm ?

I was thinking of getting a better suspension anyways. Just not everything else at the same time, track , PV's. No worries. ;)

I really hope the W arm is what caused the driver to eat the lugs. Otherwise I'm mystified.

Are you going to stud?
Go 1 inch and stud.Don't know ??????
You mainly ride the river and trails but if your going in the deep then an inch may be to little.
I know when I studded my SX700 with a one inch it hooked like crazy.

No studs. I would like to keep things simple. I was going to go 1.25" but some people reported a rub during break in. So to be safe I was thinking 1". Sure could of use more then 1" last winter. Got stuck 4-5 times getting to the river...
