My buddy has a 99 srx 700 and i have a 2001 srx 700, they sit side by side on a trailer right now, and when i look at the bumper height for each one, his 99 sits a tad bit higher(+/- 1 inch) then mine, his FRA is in the lowest position, not 50/50 or high but on the bottom of it, and he has bender rods, my FRA is highest position and i have stock T-rods so far, i have bender rods on the way, his skid furtherest back (big spring) seems like its not as preloaded as mine too.

whats making his sit higher?

THanks

Also, it could be:

Bushing bind in your skid??? Or worn out bushings. Have a close look at the bushings in the shocks and the rods that run beside the rear shock(I'm having a blond moment and can't remember what those rods are called).

will adding the bender t-rods make the ride height any higher? i'll check bushings, how would that make it sit lower?

Modsrx, if i adjust my limiter straps will that effect the height? they are tight when sled is on ground, good amount of threads showing, if i loosen them will that change anything?

the more u loose them to more the skid will go out ..but this will effect how the sled stay on trail... try to see why its lower .. spring bushing limiter strap

can you tell me where to look specifically? where the shocks mount in the skid? those bushings? and are you talking about those gold colored bars, what am i looking for there? My preload is up almost all the way on the rear most shock.

Them more the skid will go out? as in sitting higher or just towards the ground causing more transfer?

are these bushings where the shock mounts are? how can i tell if they are worn out? slope in the the side to side of the shock or shock off to one side (gap) in shock mount?

Not familiar with skid work, pictures identafying where to look would help if possible.

The bushings will be worn out so that the bolts(mostly in the gold bars) will move front to back. The easiest way to tell may be to have someone lift the back while you watch the area for slop. When I put new nylatron bushings in my skid, the skid would retern to full height without any help. With sacked/dry bushings, I would have to lift it back to full height. If you have to lift it back to full extension, you need to go through the skid.

The transfer nuts won't affect your ride height, but the amount of spacer on the bottom of the rods will, to a degree.

Doesn't a '99 SRX have a naturally higher ride hieght than a '01 due to different shocks or something?

Not sure. That could be it, or the front of one sled is lower than the other, causing the rear to be higher. Lots of possible variables here.

take the bolts out of the ends of your stock transfer rods and you will find out if they are keeping the back end down

when I installed viper shocks ( long travel) into my srx. I needed to add 10mm to the stock transfer rods

on many stock setups on srx, the back of the track is actually off the groudn about an inch, due to the limiter straps, center preload, and rear FRA setting.

the FRA effectivley changes the spring rate. one end is soft ( more set in, with or without you on it) the other will be a stiffer rate and the sled will set higher ( also will be tippier in cornering)
