Im Looking at a new track for my srx. I am thinking of getting a studded track. I am just wondering about the weight. I want my sled to go fast on the lake among other things I would also like it to preform not honorably bad off the trail. I know there probably inst a track that can do this.
I had a 1 1/4 camoplast of some kind. Never did figure out what it was. It was real good in deep snow. Much much better than a ripsaw. But I ripped most of the lugs off before I completely busted it all up.
I was thinking of something Like a Ultimate Ice that is 36lbs http://www.royaldistributing.com/ShoppingCart/MiddleRedirect.aspx?page=Snow2009/160.html
Any help would be appreciated.

Prestudded Tracks are good for Ice, but on the trail they act like a none studded track, considering the studs only poke out of the lugs a little way.
If the track you had on it was MUCH MUCH better then a ripsaw, the lugs would not rip off, Ripsaws are great.

What you probably had was a 1.25 Predator six pitch from Camoplast. They are much better than a Ripsaw for off trail use, usually they are very durable. I am not a real big fan of the pre-studded tracks (the ones that use car tire type studs) you end up putting studs in it anyway. The Ripsaw is a very good all around track, great on the trail, good off trail and you won't lose much if any on top end. Unfortunately if you do alot of off trail you need at least a 1.25 track, if you want to buy from Royal I would recommend their combo deal #2. It is a Shotgun-1.25 track (34lbs) and 96 1.375 carbide studs. Some guys on the 4-stroke side have used this track you might want to ask their opinion.
