i just had my carbs cleaned on my 01 srx and the shop i brought it to recommended that i drain all the old gas out (about 1 gallon) and put it 2 gallons of 112 racing fuel, they say it wont clog up the freshly cleaned carbs, could this hurt my stock srx motor to run it with 112 octane?
Spendy, but won't hurt anything to run. I usually cut some 110 in with my 93 the first tank of the year as they can sit a long time between use early in the season.

what is the shelf life of 110 octane as opposed to 93? I just cleaned my carbs and got all the old gas out and put about a half tank of 93 in her, should i fill her up the rest with 110? probably wont be riding till december when there is solid snow base...

Why are you guys messing around with race fuel? There is no need for that. All race fuel will do is make your stock sleds run really rich for no reason. Don't mess around with old gas. Drain out your old fuel, throw the old fuel in your truck, and fill it up with fresh fuel.
Yamidude59, the shelf life on race fuel is not nearly that of pump gas. All race fuels also have different shelf lives.

ONLY REASON ONE WOULD NEED RACE GAS TODAY IS IF YOUR CONCERNED THE QUILITY OF OCTANE YOUR BUYING AT THE PUMP. AND EVEN THAN I WOULD RUN IT PREMIX WITH 93. AS FARR AS YOUR DEALER TELLING YA TOO RUN IT TO CLEAN CARBS, HE MUST SELL IT BECAUSE I NEVER HEARD OF THAT. 3:16 (yammie tony)
