I need a piece for my SRX's rear suspension. It is the cross member rod between the rails that the little shock connects to. The limiter straps go around it. Yamaha wants $170 plus tax! Does anyone know where a cheaper one can be had? Mine was jarred out of place, snapping both the bolts that screw into it. Thanks, Mike.
Yes, that's the piece. Can you tell me what year suspension this is? Apparently they changed it slightly after 2000 so the suspension wouldn't bind. Thanks
this is a 98 skid in the picture
You can't get the broken bolts out of it??

you should be able to get the bolts out mig weld a washer to the bolt then weld a nut on the heat should help from welding then it will turn out ive done alot this way
Bruce at B-line Control told me I'd need a new/different one. He also told me about the binding with the earlier shafts. The bolts sheared off in the holes a little so I suppose that would make it more difficult to weld to. Thanks, Mike
I have one off of an 05 warrior. $85 plus shipping Maxdlx
even if you have the one that uses the two bolts you should update it by drilling a holein each end, removing the threads. then buy the long bolt from an 03 and up rx1 skid to hold it in. you will also need the nut. when i build a skid I also reweld the tabs even if new, then to make sure they seat tight, i mix up jbweld and smear some on each side of the mount befor installing. then assemble but dont tightent, only snug the bolts. let jb dry and then tighten down. this will fill in any small differences between the metals and make for a nice extra tight fit. this shaft, the rear center idler shaft and the rear sissor shaft is all that keeps your skid rails from diamonding.

Broken bolt-
Posted earlier about wheel bearings for my SRX. Had same problem also today, right side bolt sheared off, and small bolt tab broke/cracked weld. Took about 10 mins to drill out and re-tap bolt problem. Sandblasted and rewelded tab that was broken, and rewelded opposite side as well. Common bolt to find at any good hardware store. Also liked the idea of one long bolt clean through whole assy. Have whole rear susp out of my sled, 30 mins to pull it out, about 2 hrs total time into blasting welding and repainting, just need bearing. If i can do this, you can too, find a good friend with a welder and some skills, and you got it. Or-- pm me, maybe can talk. My fab/weld skills are excellent. Hope you make out ok!
