Did you just buy these? I tried to pipe a 94 v-max 500 that I use to own years back. Its just not worth it IMO. I could never get it to run right. Those 600 twins are very reliable and run good on the stock pipe.
I think you would have been better off putting on a 97-98 top end and peeling the head gasket.
If you want to put them on, PM 800 and he can help you with jetting and clutching.

I had those on my 95 VMAX 600 and man would that sled beat the compition in drag racing! Only down fall was keeping the motor together for trail riding. I bought the sled from a Yamaha dealer and it was thier ICE/ GRASS drag sled. I was lucky because the dealer backed it because they set it up. I went back to stock and ran amsoil oil and never had anthor issue! Ran a good clutch set up and she would still pull the 100 mark and was rock hard reliable! I agree with Tom!!!!!
I had a set of those on my 94.. just bolt em on and go...no need to rejet , run it stock,( although I did drop my needles one notch, for better gas milage,) make sure you run high octane gas!
nice to know no i didn't just buy it had it in the basement for a couple of years. hey tomseal6 your saying to put on a top end of a 97-98 would that be the jubs and averything or just the head??? i would like to know more info about it maybe what am looking for

parts needed from '97-'98:
jugs, pistons, head, rings, head gasket
...you can use the same base gasket as a '94 (new one of course).

PM 800 for the parts needed for that top end. i am sure he can help you. You need all that mopar told you. I think you can peel the head gasket on that too.
Also, put a good clutch kit in it and go.

how much more power will it get me? am not just better off just putting a complete 97-98 engine in the sled

you dont need a new engine, just a complete top-end.
If 800 has a top-end for you, I'm sure he can port it for you as well. Maybe cut the heads or you can peel the gasket would be easier.
Just some advice,
I would put those Pipes and whatever came with them on Ebay and put the money towards your new top-end.

I remember talking to 800 on the phone 1 day. He was telling me how he put the 97-98 500 cylinders on his sled and was SMOKIN the 600 piped v-maxes on the lake.
They tried to tell him that there was a big-bore on his sled!!!
