is the rear shock on a 96 vmax xt rebuildable? it is alum. body, got rear skid in 92 exciter.

X2, I believe Pioneer performance (was / is a sponser) can rebuild them for you check for prices usualy not to bad i paid about 120 for both my XT's to be rebuilt but i found out later (of course) you can get them for about 48 a shock (that was a year ago so it might be more now)
If you go to remove the shock be very careful as they is a needle bearing inside the eyelet and the pins like to fall out if you get an old bushing and cut it so its short enough to fit inside you can slide it in to hold the pins this is what we had to do to keep the new pins inside when i replaced them.
