Here is my problem. My sx700 runs fine at an idle but when I pour the coals to her she hits hard out of the hole but then starts backfireing. Now i have changed all the fuel lines, cleaned the carbs, but dont understand what could possibly be going wrong? any suggestions would be great

sounds to me like a plug/spark issue.have you tried new plugs?if you have and get the same result you could try to close the gap on the plugs real small.if that works with the gap closed than you have a weak stator.

i did have fresh high octane. I have to check the screen in the fuel tank see if there is any debri in it. Otherwise u think it could be the stator?

problem

If it was runnign fine before and it just started acting up after your carb maintenance, I would think it might be related to your re-installation of the carbs. Maybe in reattaching your choke, you didnt get it back to its original setting and thus gettign too much fuel, thus the backfiring

I had this happen to me one time after a cleaning years ago and I recall it was my choke setting that was the culprit.

Have a 700 mountain max 2001 was running ok then no spark then back fire then run ok. the correction was new stator and pickup. the pick up was the problem but you have to buy both. Machine runs great now starts great.

will a stator and pickup work out of a srx? I have a blown up srx 700 sitting in the garage to steal parts off of.
