I just powerwashed my 2 place non enclosed trailer and looking for a good product to seal it with. It appears it origanlly had a black coating on it. Should I just use a black solid stain then a couople coats of waterproofer? Any sugestions.

I would leave it alone. paint or sealer will make it very slippery when there is snow on it.

I need to put some new wood on the two place open trailer that I just picked up as well. I was thinkin about puttin some treated 3/4 plywood down with some Thompson water seal on it since it will be exposed to the elements all year..... Is this not a good idea? I dont plan to have this trailer for more than a few years but I want the wood to last and still look presentable whenever I do go to sell it. I'm in the same boat as SRXXX, what should we do?
Thanks
Thanks

Sure, go ahead and do it, just mix some Silica Sand in with it to give it some grit. Use your own guess as to how much sand to mix in with it, doesn't take much. Concrete sealers use it in Wisconsin to keep stamped patios from being slick from snow.

That sounds like a pretty cool idea Woodydog, something like that never crossed my mind. Simple but effective. I'll probably end up doing something to that effect. Thanks for the idea!

Has anybody tried any of the spray on truck bed-liners...like LINE-X or Rhino liner.??

I havent tried it on a trailer but I have the roll on kind on my mud truck. I have it in the bed and along the rocker pannels all the way down the side. Its definately durable like they say but imo the stuff in my bed is still alittle slick when it gets wet. Its not too bad, I havent fallen out of the bed yet (at leaset not because of the liner). The only problem I have with it is that after a few bends/dents where it has been applied and quite a few passes with a power washer it started to flake off. I cant complain tho, its been on my truck for about 6 or 7 years and only in the past 1 or 2 has it started to flake. My olde man has the real sh!t, rhino liner, in his bed and mine dosent even compare to his. That stuff is awesome but kinda pricy

when you buy plywood, buy marine grade plywood and forget about sealer and paint!

Marine grade plywood.... know its out there but can you get something like that at Home Depot? Never really looked for that before. Sounds like a good idea though
There is a thread going on over a johndee's about using spray on bed liners. You may want to have a look.
