Hi guys! I have a 96 vmax xt and was thinking about putting plastic skis on it. I already talked to Scott Bergstrom about shimming my skis. My question is do plastic skis help at all with the darting on these sleds? I can't decide if I want to spend that much on skis when I don't know how long I am going to keep this sled. Are the plastic skis going to make a big difference in the way the sled turns and drives? Thanks!

These should work on our sleds, Most of the ski-doo flex ski's bolt on with a space on each side. Then you need to notch the saddle slightly and fill the back half of the saddle in so the tip won't go down to far, you can pick up the ski-doo skis VERY cheap usualy thats why i went that route and recommend it. Also they are seem to have eliminated most darting and definetly handle a lot better in the powder.

The notching is on the saddle if you look at the images of the yami plastic ski's in the link above you will notice a slight groove in the saddle (aluminum part of the ski) this is where the bolt on the front scissor hits on the saddle when the ski tips up. I can get some pics this weekend if you would like.
