I've tried everything. broomstick, straps, heat, wd40 etc. I'm out of options. This thing is in so tight, I'm literally tearing straps in half. Thinking of blowing something up
!!!!!
Any ideas? :

2ft breaker bar hasnt failed me yet, an extra hand to hold the primary tool doesnt hurt either. Ive had more problems poping the clutch off with the puller, than the acutal bolt that press the clutch on. Wheres the the Impact Gun at????

Impact Gun....
If you have access to impact gun...add a few drops of oil to the gun prior to using it...use short blast to tighten first, then back it off...works most time for meZachalyse said:I've tried everything. broomstick, straps, heat, wd40 etc. I'm out of options. Nic'n tight
Not to sound dumb, but you are turning it counter-clockwise eh? Although it is butchery, you might have to insert bar through clutch to hold it solid , if you keep tearing strap. With lots of leverage on bolt ,its gotta come out.Good luck.

NEVER use an impact gun on a clutch bolt, it is possible to damage crank bearings.

MMMmm Thats strange, I have done at least 400 or so times ov er the years. Never once had a problem with my bearings. Your turning it counterclockwise, same rotation as the motor to loosen.. As long as your not using it (impact gun) to put it Back on.

So if all else fails what would YOU use to break it lose then???? Its pretty hard to find a tool that packs a punch of an impact vs you straining your back/arms and busting your balls and knuckles to get no where. When it could be done with the pull of the trigger in less than 3 seconds. Im not saying I use this method right from the get go cause Ive never had the actual bolt be that tight that it came down to using an impact. But I have had some primary's that did not want to pop with a 200lbs+ guy putting all his weight on it as someone else held the primary holder.

Go to your local yamaha Dealer, Pay them 80$ to 100$ watch them use there impact gun, and be on your way.

I also have seen and used an impact gun with no negative effects on bearings! some can be a real b*tch to get off though!

I use a Dewalt electric impact gun to take it off AND put it back on-- done it that way probably 50 times on my viper with no probs, but I don't think it has as much hit as an air gun...
