When reprogamming the CDI's for high rpm do most of the programmers retard the timing curve aswell?? ( This is for the SRX CDI's that I am interested ) Curious as to how the high rpm ignition is going to work for a ported SRX with high rpm pipes in 2000 ft...

no, they hold the curve out further to allow the engine to keep revving up, the factory cdi retards the timing drasticly after 8650rpm on the newer srx, thats why it will sound like its backfiring if your try and run 9+-10,000rpm with a stock cdi box.

So what kind of finish timing can I expect when this thing is spinning at 10400 RPM?? I have 2 CDI's one programmed by Simmons the other I believe was done but Yamaha USA.. Not sure on the second one though.. On my v-max the engine seemed to like about 16 degrees of timming at max RPM which was 10,200 RPM's
