Anyone use the new skinz handguards? Wondering if they help to keep your hands warm? I like to wear a thin pair of gloves but need something for wind protection. Any pics of them on your sleds?

I have not used them or seen them in person but I have the same question as you.

We'll I just had a set of Powermad star series handguards given to me so I'm going to give those a try.I don't think they look as warm, but they should deflect the wind off of my hands which should still help.

Sorry too late for you but, I use the Skinz handguards and really like them except they need a better attachment at the outside. It works fine until you make an impromptu dismount off-trail. You usually tear the velcro off the guard and have no way to really hook it back up in the field. It should either be stitched strong enough to seperate the velcro instead, or have a u-bracket available.
I think I will make my own as I use 90 degree hooks and the guards limit the full use of the hooks. Basically the bracket needs to come out of the bottom of the hook, then go forward enough to clear your hand when using the hook, and then come up to attach the end of the handguard to.

do you have any pics of them on your sled? My first impression is ugly but if they are functional they are well worth it.

I also use the Skinz soft handguards on my Apex and like Ding I had a problem with the velcro closure untill I used a plastic zip tie to fasten them to the handle bars, I carry extra in the trunk just in chase.

do you think they are better than the standard plastic handguards? I have a problem with my hands getting cold and the plastic ones didn't seem to help last year. I always had to wear thick gloves. I also like being able to remove them so I can put my cover on.

The only think that kept my hands warm on really cold days are muffs. The Skinz helped to keep the cold air off of my hands but for sub zero days on long trips the muffs worked the best for me.

I have wondered if the PowerMadd gauntlets for the Star series handguards would work over the Skinz guards . . .
I think removable gauntlets are the way to go for severe cold days.
