if i don't have hand warmers and no speedo (light) could i run 3 tiny digital egts and a light for my water temp gauge off the sled?? or is that to much stuff to run??? and if so could i grab the power that used to got to the speedo light to run my other gauges (egts and water temp)
p.s. can i cut the egt wires and put conectors in them?

almost certain the headlight is ac voltage. You need to get the clean dc voltage for most add ons that are digital. Lights and other things can handle the ac but it will cause fits on anything like electronic gauges, hid headlights, and gps units.
The fuel gauge runs on it and on the sx there is a plug near the right foot well that plugs into the batter if it has electric start. So you could use that also if the srx has the plug. I would not cut the egt probe wires because they are tuned for resistance which means if you change the resistance of the wire you will probably change the readings you are seeing.

The brown wire off the DC voltage regulator is good clean power. This is for 98-99 srx

ok i tested every wire with the air box in and still cain't find a 12 v dc source all up front is ac i just need a good way to find it i don't know where the dc regulater is.... this will be the last step in getting it up for the year.... my next option is to run a battery

dc regulator is on the left footwell, behind the black plastic vent panel, the wire you want is brown, the dc regulator has 4 wires, colors:white/yellow,white/black,brown, black.

thamks guys all gauges are in (working great)and i think my meter dont like dc volts because is only reads 3-4 volts dc on the brown wire... but i only use it for work (ac) it is a auto switch ac to dc when needed... its a $300 fluke but no wonder i couldn't find 12v dc... i hooked up the gauges and did a test run today we have a little snow to ride on but could not open it up or use the spray yet but thanks for all the help
