water temp sensors?

on a 98 srx 700 wheres a good spot for a water temp sensor is there already a bug i could un screw and plop it in.... it has to read the temp for the dummy light some where right?

last one i did was installed in the coolant hose, mag side, between pump outlet and reservoir. simple to install: cut hose. you need some 1" od aluminum tubing, drill and tap for sensor.

mine has the reg temp sensor and i have a digital one also ...take collant rail off and in the center of rail there is a flat spot that can be drilled and taped to accept another sensor .....here is a picture

thanks guys but the one i am using will need a ground so the rail will work then right??

ground wire is needed for the display end but not the sensor end ....what kind of sensor you running ? mine is a daytona guage ....but i did find one that has no wireing just 2 watch batterys ..i can get you link and pick for the one i used if you want ...

sure... you got all the good links.... mine has a wire that goes the the end of the sensor and i think it has to be grounded like on a block...
