Hello!
I am trying to collect a list of snowmobiling "slang" terms. I would really appreciate it if you could add anything to the list below!
Cheers!
"boondocking": going thru powder
"high marking"
"ditch banging"
"whooning around at a "C" note": going 100 miles an hour
"mod sleds": modified sleds
"Sled heads"

Snirt= snow dirt combo....
IIRC, brown sugar is the same thing.
Flying W
is when the sled stops as if it hit a buried stump and you fly over the bars. Your arms and head resemble a "w"
Ghost rider
is the opposite when the sled continues, and you fall off the back
Roost
is the snow that you fling up in the face of the rider behind you
There are many motorcycle terms that can apply to a sled as well. Even highsiding. ouch....

sluff: lighter snow that bleeds off around your sled tracks/ski tracks. it falls like an avalanche when carving down a hill. if the sluff gets big then it is a "lanche"
superman snow/hero snow: set up late season snow, usually late march or into april (or later) where anyone can climb high in the chutes on the mountain. ski
