seems to be on the low side.

I would have put new rings in 2000 miles ago. So here is what I would do.

New pistons
New rings
New wrist pin bearings... All this will cost you about $400 if you do it yourself but is well worth it.

1 gallon of amsoil interceptor.

There is a lot of variables in taking a compression reading. Wouldn't get to hung up on a number. At 5k miles, if never been apart rering is a good idea. Would clean and inspect every thing to see if needs anything other then rings. Just my 2cents.

i have over 7k on my red head . 130 psi with a peak head . i have no plans for a rebuild . stock head was 112 when new

When doing a compression test it also depends on the tester and brand. some can be off by 5pounds or more.My srx had between 120 -125 and it only had 1800 kms at that time and at 10000 it still had the same compression. If it were me I would"nt worry about it. Thats just my 2 cents worth

Every gauge reads differently. You might just have a gauge that reeds on the low end. I have two gauges that read 20 psi different. Before jumping to conclusions, do another compression test with a different gauge to verify that your gauge just doesn't read low.

i would not be as worryed about the # because of gauge slack but being more level across the board... if you have 1 cyl thats way diff then worry about it.... but then on the other hand if it way to low then you could be in trouble.... i checked mine this year with my gauge (new) and it was 115 so i did a re build and checked it agine and got 115 with the same gauge and then checked it with a buddys and got 123-124 so......

I would rering its alot easyier and cheaper then what could hapen
i second that if you even think its bad then just rering i was bumbed when mine came out with the same psi... i could of save some money but at least this year i don't have to worry about it.... just reringing is pretty cheep

If the sled has never had new rings at this mileage, I stated in my last post about new rings, pistons and all is because there is a possibility that the piston skirts may have become worn from rocking back and fourth due to worn rings.

You will have to mesure the O.D. of the pitson to see if they are in specs but like I said, if the rings have never been changed, I doubt it.

Well i think my gage reads low because I did a test lastnight on my friends mint 3800 klm SRX and got 115 on all 3 the same as me i figured it should get more, i think the gage wont read more must be off by around 10 psi. what you think?

Going to try my friends tester next because i have a cheep $29.00 one i think thats the problem.
