Hi I have a 1983 vmax 540 that im restoring and today i found that the clutch isn't the original Comet. It's a 108-c but not metric. I was wondering what would be a good starting point for clutching this machine. It's completely stock.. Right now it has a yellow/green spring and A-3 weights. Any help would be very helpful. Thanks!

CHRIS, MY 1983 HAS ORIGINAL YAMAHA COMET. I DID CHANGE SPRING TO UP ENGAGEMENT FROM YELLOW TO PURPLE. I BELIEVE THE YELLOW SPRING HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE PURPLE PER SPEC BY COMET. PART # 207758. WEIGHTS YOU CAN TRY THOSE A-3. 3;16 (yammie tony)
