I pulled my power valves out to clean and found the middle one disconnected from the cable. Looks like the cable area on the valve is all worn out. Is this common? Should I check the others? I thought the sled was kind of doggy for the last couple of runs last year!!

Common problem. Check them all. Search for "pull through" on here...tons of info for repair.

Thanks Fro. I will be sure to check them all. Any luck on repairing them? I would like to adjust them all as well. Doing a search I found quite a few different ways to adjust. Which way is best? Thanks

a new valve will run about 100 bucks, worth it in my opinion.... just run amsoil interceptor oil....
heres a way to adjust them thanks to daman.
Ok,
set servo(idle down motor 900rpms and lower)and mark it
go back up to the servo and unloosen(turn in) all three cables
go back down to a valve and unbolt the housing(the two allen bolts on the outter housing)and pull
appart.
insert your two 2.5mm Allen wenches
go back up to the servo and GENTLY....tighen(turn out) the cable thus
taking out the slack till it just tuches the A/W,stop ypur done, but
be carefull over tighting will pull the servo pully off the mark, then you
would need to start over(settting the servo by hand alining the marks)
move to the next PV and repeat till all three are done."

You can run yamalube it just not sthinetic.. Its just reg. mineral oil, sthinetic is alot more better for the power valves, reg mineral oil seems like to carbon the power valves wayyy more then sthinetic...If u ran sthinketic you probbly wont run in to this problem soo often..

correction...yamalube is semi-synthetic. what makes it burn kinda dirty is the ash that's in the oil.
g-man, you can just pick up a good used valve or have yours repaired. i have a set of repaired power valves. they are repaired w/the stainless bolt method. no more pull thrus. i can fix your stock one too, if you want to go that route.

G-man just go get a new valve... You wanna go around tellin people you gotta used valve in there? thats crap. i'd only put new in there. Money isn't a thing, only if you make it a thing.

it doesn't matter if the part is used Yamidude59. especially if its in good working condition/order. it wasn't a problem for you to purchase and then use a used primary spring from me. you guys get too bent outta shape over used parts.
How do you turn down the idle to 900 on the viper?? all three carbs??? I under stand the rest, just not that part??

You can use your choke to bring down rpm's. Just put it on enough to lower the rpm's and then shut the machine off. The other method would be to adjust the idle with the adjuster bolt located behind the motor next to where the cable connects to the throttle linkage.

nothing wrong with the repaired powervalve, especially with the ss bolt, the ss is not going to pull through as easy if at all. jmo
