New to snowmobiles just started last year and have a 1999 Sx 500 but would like to Faster with out spending a ton of money or buying a new sled. So ? is what do i need 2 do to go faster

There are a few simple mods you can do that are outlined in the technical sections as well as throughout the forum. Such mods include the reed notch, silencer boring and head gasket mod. You could clutch it but the guys will need to know your current configuration and operating RPMs, etc. Do some searching around on the site here and you'll come across a lot of good information. What track are you running? With or without studs? You could do some trail porting, too. I am not sure what pipes exist for the 500's as I am not as familiar with them. It all depends on how much money you want to spend. Hopefully this will get you started in the right direction, do a quick search on those items to get you started. If you are running stock clutching, I'd also consider that as well.
