Speedo/Tach retrofit

I would like to upgrade my speedo/tach to the larger style (SRX/SXR). Would they be a direct connect (wiring)?

As far as I know the wires are different but maybe I am wrong.

i have done a 97 vmax 500 ....the tach wont work from old style to new .....lights and warning lights just pull bulbs and swap them over to the new ....

what he means is you need a tach from a single bulb ignition and with the same no of cylinders as you have. speedo will work from any year.
i have some guages if you need some but no pods
