Hello,
I'm brand new to this site. I ride a 2002 sxviper er. I'm a newbie with snowmobile tech so please excuse my ignorance. My sled's check engine light is on. What should i do?

Shoot... sorry for posting that twice. like i said im new
first thing is to make sure it has more then a 1/4 tank of gas in it.
In the left-hand frame of the www.totallYamaha.com home page you should see a Tech Pages button. If you click that button, and then select Snowmobile, you should see a list of sections each containing technical pages about Yamaha snowmobiles. There is a page in that list that shows info from the Owner's Manual (also in the Service Manual) about the meaning of the warning lights on the sled gauge.
On your sled there should be another indicator along with the warning light that should indicate what caused the light to throw. Also many of the warnings involve a specific flashing sequence much the same as early ECMs on autos.
