Last year as part of a package deal, I got a 93 exciter II SX. It's in really good condition with 3600 miles on it. I was thinking about selling it, but I have always loved this one year high perf sled. With this economy, I'm not too sure I could get much it if I sold it. Anyways, all it needs is a head gasket replacement (sounds pretty easy to do???) as it is leaking a little coolant. Should I keep it and restre in the future? Will this be collectible in the future? I'd hate to sell it and later on regret doing so. Right now, I'm really leaning towards keeping it. Your thoughts?

Of course, as a lover of the older iron & especially the SX, this is JMHO!!! LOL
I have one but it is a bit rough so the chassis and some components are going to be the foundation for my project sled.
Some day I would like to find a real nice one & keep it stock!!
Value wise..who knows, it was a "one year" sled & they are getting harder to find in decent shape.
Post a picture of her...always enjoy looking at the old stuff!!

It'll be a long, long time before the value of the 90's era sleds starts to increase. They're not really worth much... Unless you are an enthusiast and plan on keeping the sled for 20+ years as a collector's item you probably will never see a return on the investment.. But if you are someone like me and just plain like the sled and enjoy having it around, don't need the money, and have the space to store it, there's no harm in keeping it.
If you do decide to sell it, let me know, I love the old Exciters and miss my '93 Exciter II a lot!

I'll give you more than $500 for it, just think in another ten years it will be 25 years old, a single model year and the best Exciter Yamaha ever made!
That sled will turn into the exact same thing as the sno-scoots and sports have. You'll always be able to move it and it will be worth more than the average sled. Wish I had kept mine....
