My brotherinlaws sled starts and runs for a few secs then dies. It does have old gas in it. Could it be anything else that anyone can think of. Thanks in advance this site is awsome ;)!

Ditch the old fuel and make sure you clean the carbs. They should be done every year regardless. I've seen fuel needles sticking to the brass seats alot more with the new 10% ethanol fuel. Bottom line, pull the carbs and clean them yourself or have a buddy help. I'm starting to get my sleds ready this weekend. Snows coming!

I agree with Zaj 243 do them two things then post back, clean good, use
shop air and blow all passages out, take your time...

oh and welcom to TY.....

Good advice above . . .

Inside the carbs gas need to go through little tiny holes (size of a toothpick tip) that don't take much to clog up. Old gas makes for lots of crud which seems to target these holes. It can also gum up things that are supposed to shut fuel flow off at the right moment. Kinda like having a shoe stuck in a door, lots of unwanted cold air comes in.

Clean carbs and good gas, make sleds run better and cost less, both in fuel and repair costs.

Cleaning carbs is free and fun . . . When else do you get to spray carb cleaner in your eyes ?

agree with above, especially what ding said "when do you get the chance to spray carb cleaner in your eyes! "love reading your posts bro! cracks me up!!!!lol
