anyone put viper shocks up front? is it just a swap or is it more involved than that? what about a viper skid in the rear?
Ok... You gave no info about what sled. Not everyone would look in your advatar and realize.
AND..... SEARCH button! I'm sorry man, But there has been way to much of this suspension talk going on lately! Look through Davecarpenters posts. He's just about covered every single suspension question possible!!!!!!!!

I put works shocks on my sx-r 600 last year and I love them double rate springs and they will pick out the spring ranges and valve tuning for you at no cost very helpfull I can't rember but I think I got them from work's direct I was boon docking hit a stump bent the upper radis rod and did'nt even feel a thing

yeah i bet that works good. i don't want to spend that much money on this sled. i love this sled and have no plans to get rid of it but i do plan on getting a 4 stroke as soon as i can.

OK, in the front, you will have to remove the stock upper shock mounts from the sled, then the Viper shocks will mount to the sled directly. You will see how it goes if you compare the Viper shocks to the stock setup. You will need to adjust the camber on the skis so they sit flat. Remember, you are changing the geometry a little bit, so it's not a perfect bolt-on, but it works.
In the back, a Viper Suspension should bolt right in. I personally think the stock rear suspension looked cheesy in '97, and that thing is now 11 years old, so I would certainly give it thought. I went one step further and put an x-tra 10 Polaris skid in because I'm tired of broken W-arms and basically, I just wanted to experiment!

thanks, how much cash and how much work to do what you did?

Viper front shocks and skids are always for sale on the board. Don't remember what I paid for the shocks. I think I paid around $150 for the rear skid.
The front is easy. The back, for me, I had to reposition the support plates that the skid bolts go through. Drilled out the old rivets and moved them and drilled new holes. I also found the width to be a little short, so I had my machinist friend make some aluminum plates about 1/16 each and put them behind the support plates.
A Viper skid would have been easier!
