Im trying to improve my clutching on my viper and thinking of running a 53/43 helix and green sec. spring at 60 degrees.

I was just wondering if there is any other good setups that wont break the bank? Tried doing many searches and turned up with nothing.

Thanks!

try finding a helix from a rx-1 (51/43), you might be happier w/that helix.

i forgot to mention that you can get them for like $50 in the classifieds.

what kind of riding are ya always doing? that will always determine how you set up your sled. .

Aggresive trail riding with some lake drags. Im setting this viper up for a 250lb dressed rider, so clutching might be slightly different. It also has a stock track with 96 studs.

I can find a used spring for cheap but not sure if I should use a used spring since some people replace springs annually.

I am installing Hauck's trail perf. clutch kit. its cheap, and easy to install and all that is included is different springs and a multi angle helix. they tell you what degree to set it at with other options based on rpm. I like it because its very simple and you dont have to mess with weights. I'm sure there are other options you could do to yield greater improvment though. its $175.00 US

I added Turks kit: the 53/43 dalton with a green spring at 60 wrap. It is a great trail kit that really gave the sled some snap.

Thats exactly what im hoping for, glad to hear it worked so well!

Will a 51/43 helix be close enough to work similarily?

I would go with the 53/43 and green spring. The helix is around 100 plus the spring 10? I felt I got better gas milage too!

if you use a 51/43( don,t use an apex/attak/rx1 helix) stay with a red secondary spring but...the viper lokes a steeper helix then that.
