I have a 2002 Viper that was an ER. The previous owner took the battery and reverse out to add tripple pipes. I was wondering what I might have to do to put a battery back in. What wires should I look for. My problem is my handwarmers are sacrificing since I added my helmet heated shield. I am hoping a small battery will help my problem.

where are your heated shield tied into the sled at? the handwarmers come from the cdi box.

Not sure. I am guessing the handwarmers weren't touched from factory. I wired the heated shield in by the fuseboz. I asked on here 2 years ago where to wire them in and someone replied I think it was a blue wire with black tracer (not sure without looking) was 12v regulated. So thats what I used. I hope my CDI isn't getting weak. I thought maybe if I put a battery back in the way it was from factory it would help. When I bought the sled the handwarmers would get so hot I would have to turn them off fro awihle but now they don't heat up hardly. It seems if I turn the dial up more than 1/2 to 3/4 they stop working all together. I'm baffled. The only other electrical mod was the addition of the yellow headlight bulbs but they are not high wattage bulbs or anything.

I had a similar issue with my 02. Turned out to be a broken wire on my stator. Something to check

Thanks for the info. I'll take a looksie. It has been known afterall the Viper harnesses rub through and break. They must be a couple inches too short from factory or something.
