A good friend of mine just purchased an SRX bottom end off ebay, complete. When it arrived, I took a look at it, and the crank wouldn't spin freely. I pulled the bottom end apart, and the crank is completely finished. I have never seen bearings in such bad shape. This person is claiming it came out of a running sled. It may have been, about 5 years ago, and this bottom end sat for quite a while with no oil in it, so even the bearings that weren't finished all need to be replaced.
The guys name is Mark Brethauer. His ebay userid is merstv. My buddy thinks he is from Michigan. Here's his ebay profile:

He is not wanting to come clean, or partially re-imburse my friend for the finished crank. He is not looking for complete re-imbursement, since he needs the cases.
If anybody happens to know this guy, please let me know. I don't like seeing fellow snowmobilers get screwed over.

Yes, but he is not about to return the product. I have already sent the crank out to be repaired.

Be sure your buddy leaves negative feedback of how he got junk parts. "BUYER BEWARE" in caps!
If he advertised it as GOOD and in fact is NOT GOOD your buddy can have him charged with internet fraud. I did this to an ebay'r a few years ago and they refunded my cash in full. This is a little aggresive but does work.
i have delt with him parts were pretty rought from what i remember belive it was saddlebags with house paint spilled on them but not for sure ...yes he is from michigan .....i would ask for partial refund ..he sells alot ....pay with paypal ?? you can have his account locked up til they decide if it was AS DESCRIBED ...all you need to do is have a certified yamaha mechanic writ on a work order couldnt have come from a running engine ...took 6 ot 8 weeks last time i had to go through that ....

fill in a complaint with paypal right away. Let paypal know the part is finished unless big $$ are spent to rebuild and he described it good shape. He may change his mind about resolving the issue.
