Picked up a 85 phazer (freebie) cleaned carbs and clutches problem is that at idle when you give gas it kills but over 2000rpm it is fine Any help would be nice. thanks Jason

Check the pilots, and make sure the little black plugs in the bottom of the carb are in the right spot. I think there is one over the pilot jet. Been a while since I have had one apart.

It might just be the nature of the beast. My '90 Phazer had a similar problem.
It would start on the 2nd pull and idle for about 30 seconds at 2500 rpm. Then the rpm would slowly drop and drop and drop untill the it stalled.
However, if you drove off when the rpms started to drop and drove about 2 miles down the trail it would then idle just fine.
I chalked it up to the fact that most fan-cooled sleds are jetted pretty rich to make up for their tendency to run hot.

It sounds like the TORS is acting up. Unplug the connectors ( one male and one femele coming from the wiring harness and attached to the carbs ) and hook them to each other. Bypassing it.
