My buddy installed 2" drop brackets on his SXr,now the suspension won't go down. The stopper on the stock transfer rods won't allow it.Does he need adjustable transfer rods?Does he need to drop the 2 middle suspension mounting bolts down?Need HELP!!
Im not an expert on the drop brackets, but I would be sure everything else is put back together correctly. Does the suspension move down at all? Did he have the skid completely out?
First thing I would try, is put the rear back in the original holes and try the suspension there.
Dropping the middle mounts probably needs to be done anyways to allow the suspension to work properly.Draw a line from the center of the front hole to center of the rear(stock) hole and messure the offset of the middle mounting hole and use this to make the new middle mounting hole.
Also be sure this arm isnt flipped forward against the idler wheels like in this pic.

Yes, you need to move the middle mounts down. You have to drill new holes, and if any of the holes aren't drilled accurately enough, or if both brackets aren't in the exact same place, it will bind just like you described. Search "drop brackets" and there are a few threads about the binding.
