Does anyone know if the bottom bearing in the chaincase of a SxVenom is the equivalent of a 6205 bearing? I've got to replace mine, and my local dealer thought that's what it would be, but I want to be sure before I pick one up. Thanks, Drew.

Yes. The side facing inside the chaincase will be open, but if you get a 6205 2RS bearing, all you have to do is pry off one of the rubber seal, which is very easy.

Perfect, thanks for the help. I went and priced out some new bearings and I don't think I want to pay $47 for a Yamaha one, when I can get an aftermarket one for $10. Anyone have any problems with aftermarket, or am I just asking for trouble?

I wouldn't worry about it, that bearing is just a typical bearing. Go order a 6205-2RS from an auto parts store, our local napa sells them for $5.95 and always has them in stock.

Aftermarket will do just fine. The other side is a different story. I really like the Yamaha bearings with the lock collar for those.

When you need any type of bearing, just call Motion Industries, world's largest bearing distributor (used to be called Berry Bearing). They match up anything with name brand mfgr, even if you can't read the #s on the bearing itself. Good luck!
