99 vmax sx 700 clutch

i got a 99 vmax sx 700.... was wondering what causes the primary clutch to crack.... i cracked one on my 97 vmax 700 as well a year ago.... any help would b great

heat i belive ...common after you get some miles on them

so just normal wear and tear huh.... i got someone replacing it with a polaris clutch i believe

how many miles did you have on each before you noticed cracks ?

well one blew apart.... i just got this crack today... one had 7000.... other had like 9300

ya i would expect cracks with that mileage on them

what do u think about using a polaris clutch on it

i thought i read you cant beat yamaha clutches .....i coould be wrong .......never herd of polaris clutch on yamaha ....seen some commet clutches on them ...

the polaris p-85 works well on yamahas. you need a different bolt to hold it on, and someone who can lead you in the right direction for set-up.
