Looking to find if any one can give me a figure of how many sizes to raise the mains to in order to accommodate a pair of pods on my 96 Vmax 600. Mods done to the sled which I think should be irrelevant regarding tuning for this mod are: Aaen single pipe, carbon tech reeds (for porting when I get around to it), Hauck clutch kit, thin head gasket, 120 picks.

I talked to a tech at Hauck, he checked to find out specific settings of what had worked with another Vmax 600, but came up empty in the short duration of the phone call at which point he gave rough guesstimate of 4 sizes up and richen the needles one clip position and go from there. Just looking for anyone that has specifically thrown pods on and tuned them in to get the most accurate head start on the tuning process. I'll start with 4 sizes up unless someone can suggest from a real world tuning experience.

Thanks,
Jason

hey i have a 95 500 and i have done every mod u have done and the only jetting change i made was to raise the needles 1 notch and i think i might have even went smaller on the pilot jet. these sleds are jetted pretty rich from factory and the mods make up for it. i was pretty pleased with the results. just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the suggestions all. I can agree with the above. I ran the sled just a bit ago tonight and with the air temp at 34 degrees it was rich on WOT; I have stock jets in right now. Anything passed half throttle did little to wake up the sled. After a long pull, when getting back into the throttle, it would dog until you feathered the throttle to clean it out.

One thing I'll be looking forward to is the ease of getting at the jets with the air box gone.

Could you comment on what temperature ranges you ran the sled with this filter/ jets combo in? Any other comments on the subject are welcome.

Thanks,
Jason

hey im live near ottawa ontario and the temp range was between say -25 and +1 celcius on average though the temp was say -5 to -15 most days that i ran. it was still a bit rich in the mid range but it was alot better than stock thats for sure.
