how does it work ?does it jet up does it jet down? what jets do you start off with ,were does it go does it matter if your air box is gutted out .does it work good? any info will be help full

so i put in my normal jet i ues ,huck up tempa flow and it will lean it out as the temputar gets wormer and ritch it as the temputre gets colder . it should be good for racing, jeted right on for each day as the temputre verries. did any one else ever try it ? does it make you too ritch or to lean or just right? did anyone ever blowen up caus of it?what is it set for out of the factory for altitude , i ride sea leval , what is the temputre set for i ride +5 c -20 thanks any info would be great

it has a fine tune adjutment on it so you can get the plugs right on and then it will do the wrest...its really a kewl little gadget. I have heard of people blowing there sled ....by dropping there jets to far , best it to use the stock jetting and go from there. Also make sure you mount the main body under the pad on the handle bars, that way you dont get the sudden temp rises when the sled is sitting at idle. This can cause it to lean out...what I do id take it easy for a few miles before taping it....but mine is under the hood.

so the fine tune adjutment is for altude, and the jetting is set fo -29c to +5 so what would u turn the adjutment for at sea leval?

the tempa flow is only jetting for temp, nothing to do with altitude, you jet your sled for your altitude and this will compensate for Temp change , will lean it out.....at 20 below it stops adjusting....

You want to jet your machine according to your modifications, gutted airbox, porting, pipes, etc. for the coldest temps you expect to see.

In the case of my own 'mildly tuned' SXr 700, the proper jetting was 155 mains all across. This machine was quite happy at -25 F but extremely unhappy, rich and fouling plugs at +25 F until I installed the TempaFlow.

The TempaFlow leaned the mixture so the plugs were that nice coffee & cream color at all the temps I came across. I'm too much of a wimp to purposely sled in temps colder than -25 F so my jetting was spot on.

You use the adjustment when you first install the unit by setting it rich then working your way lean by testing and reading the plugs until you have it right where you want it.

I was a bit apprehensive with the first few temperature changes but found the jetting to always be right there. I mounted mine inside the airbox so it would be reading the temperature right in front of the carbs.

For the money, this little device is probably the best bang you can get for the buck.

so you fiddle around with the screw the frist time u put it on and u are all set , any other opions

Sledder steve

Did you say something good in your post, for some reason I couldn't consentrate on it. Something kept catching my eye and disturbing me. LOL Maxdlx

I have been looking into a Tempa Flow for some time, but still not sure if it is worth the $$, i am jetting down one set on my 2000 SRX which seems to work fine in most of our Northern Ontario winters, i do take it easy when its -30c, but fuel mileage has been excellent, but if i can get improvements in performance and mileage i would consider it, so....lets hear from you Tempa Flow users, thumbs up or down.........Reaper

same reason y i am looking into buying one ,so come on guyes lets here it

I went from averaging 11mpg to 14mpg during agressive trail riding on my 500. That's quite a big jump!

EFI is the only comparable system that I know of...might cost you a grand for the throttle bodies and computer to run it...a Tempaflow is worth it! Only if you care about your gas milage and having snappy performance no matter the conditions.

If you're changing altitude more than temps though, Holtzman makes a gizmo for that too, and another gizmo that does both! Barry Holtzman is the only phisicist I know of in the sledding industry...what we like to call a sharp pencil!lol

i have one on my 01 srx, been running it for the past two seasons, with only one prblem. i encountered, fuel getting into the vent lines when side hilling or rough riding, causing low end and starting when warm problems. i rerouted the vent hoses over the carbs and the problem was gone. the instructions say to jet to -20*f and lean down the mixture with the tempaflow adjustment screw. this will work as an elevation compensator too, the directions say 1/8 turn per 2000' rise in altitude. the directions also say it is effective for up to 6-8000 feet of elevation change. just make sure to richen it back up while descending. i also lean out the screw when riding in temps over 40*f. the big things i noticed were, the great fuel economy, (close to 20mpgs on real cold days) always crisp throttle response, and very consistant performance day in and day out. as long as you dont have gobs of mods to your sled so you really have no idea where you need to be jetted it is a great performance add on. the best thing if you have alot of mods is to invest in an egt set up and check that along with piston wash and plug colors, just because it says 1200*f on the guage doesnt mean it isnt hotter in the motor. you need to double and tripple check the outcome to know where your egts are at along with proper wash and plug color. better safe than burnt down. my .02 ski

I ran one on a piped Vmax-4 i used to have and run one on current sled a srx. They do work.Just dont hammer the throttle right after a rest. You need to get the hot under hood air out so the Tempa Flow works at the right temp.Run like 1/4-1/2 throttle for a 1/4 mile or so then you should be ok.If you hammer the throttle after a rest you risk a burndown cause the under hood heat makes the Tempa Flow think its warmer than it actually is and it leans the fuel mix more. This is explained pretty well in the instructions.

i jet my sled for +10 to -20 c and ride sea leval so would the instructions tell me were to set the screw? or would i have to jet for -29f ,if so i wouldnt know the right jets to use .so what i am trying to say is ,can u use the normal jets that u usually use ? in my case 157 mains for my pipes and temp +10 to -20 c at sea leval?
