my 01 700 srx has never done this before and it puzzles me, when im pull starting iit sometimes it just stops and i let go of the pull cord and i pull it again and it pulls fine, it does sound like it is miss-firing. I had already cleaned the carbs so i pulled the plugs and they looked kinda wet, so i pulled it over without the plugs in, and it pulled over fine, i put i a little starting fluid in each hole and it fired right up and ran fine, waitin for it to cool down so i can look at it again, does anyone have any ideas why it would do this? i had just cleaned the carbs, and compression is 124-125 across all 3 cylinders.

I would do a compression and then a leak-down test on it.

You might pull the carbs and reed cages, and check the piston skirts.

Was it flooded at all?

I would figure this out before running it very much. It might be easy to fix now and expensive later.

Take the plugs out and turn the motor over with the primary and see if it feels smooth or if it has some resistance at any spot.
Maybe your pull starter is coming apart?

i knew i shouldnt of ran it but i was impatient, it didnt feel like a belt, im 270lbs and was pullin pretty hard and it would just jerk to a stop, i think maybe it was flooded and i was hearing a little pop when it stopped, so maybe it was just mis-firing, i put more gas in it and went and did some test runs on the new viper shocks and a 136 and it ran pretty good, lost alot of top speed with the 8 tooth drivers, ill have to change the gearing

Sounds like the float stuck and filled one of the cylinder with fuel. (before you cleaned the carbs)
