hello i have a 2002 yamaha viper, triple bender pipes, boysen power reeds, reed notch mod, air box gutted.bender helix and clutch kit. i decided i was going to do the head gasket mod. and when i went to put it back on i relized i did not pay attention but one side of the gasket cooling holes are restricted. is this a stock gasket or a opti-cool? does anybody know which side the restriction go to exhaust or carbs? im also starting to get mixed thoughts whats the stock compression ratio i seen 13:1. i will be running 91 oct. i removed one layer is this a good idea. engine has only 1500mi and ran trouble free last year. with stock reeds /cage, head . should i leave it alone thanks- anybody know where i could download a manual?
leave it alone, vipers already have plenty of compression, with running 91 octane fuel is a disaster waiting to happen

if you have an opti-cool head gasket, the cylinder w/the more restricted holes, will be for the mag cylinder.

gasket
my gasket is one piece for all three cylinders the water jacket section is open on 1/2 the gasket and the other 1/2 has like 1/8" holes in the water jacket section. i guess i will just get a new one since i already split this one. and ill be running 91 or 93 octane. should i go stock or opti-cool
