does the upper bering in the chain case get enough oil from the chain?? or should i pack it with white lith grease???

The upper bearing in the chaincase is lubricated by the chaincase oil. The chain revolving in the case carries the oil up to the upper bearing. There is no need to repack it. If you are putting a new bearing in, then definitely put some grease on it to prevent it from running dry until the oil gets carried up to it. At the beginning of each season, I drain the oil then open the case to clean out the metal debris that accumulates from normal wear.

its old. i changed the 2 bottoms tho. i put a little on the spedo side.

I always wondered why they didnt put a zerk fitting on the speedo side like ski doo does.
You may want to read some of the previous posts about chaincase bearings. There is the Yamaha engineered approach, and good number of other theories. Might help to read through some of this . . .
