I just picked up an 01 srx 700 with 4,900 miles. It has 125ish compression across all cylinders.
However, When i stated it today it seemed like there was kind of a knocking sound. I then realized that the center exhaust valve was leaking oil, however I dont think that this has any connection.
When I turn over the crank from the belt side, it seems like there is a very very slight amount of play. However, when watching the pistons there doesnt seem to be any play / delay from them moving with the crank. Is it possible that I have lost a crank bearing (lower rod)? Once the sled warms up the knocking seems to go away, and it seems to run fine.
I havent ridden it yet due to lack of snow.
