you will get more hp from a 780 big bore, but it costs more too. how much do you want to spend? i have my viper ported, and it helped it out some. i did it myself, so it was real affordable.
for the more "average" trail guy looking for a little more, i would suggest the porting. the big bores are expensive to purchase, expensive to repair, if something goes wrong, and need a little more attention, than a stock bore ported/piped viper. also, seeing you have slp pipes, send your cylinders to slp and let them work their majic. i'm sure their port job, works real good w/their pipes......they claim 7.1hp gain. just my .02

who makes the best Viper Triple pipes? is the extra rear heat exchanger and opticool head gasget needed? Are they reliable when you pipe them?

yes, the rear heat exchanger and opticool head gasket, are a must for triple piped vipers. the rear heat exchanger should be added to even a stock viper. piped vipers can be as reliable as stock, if setup properly. as far as the best triple pipes, you're going to get opinions on that one. i personally have aaen pipes and they work fine. if i was to do it over again, i would get ceramic coated slps.....6-7 more peak hp and ceramic coated.

i would go with slp they add 30+ hp a 8700 rpm and help midrange as well i am extremely happy with them.
