I ordered a new idler wheel from Dennis Kirk for my 98 vmax. It came and was the same outside diameter as the one that needs replacing, but it has a plastic center? Looking at their website, it looks like this is a plastic insert to make the center diameter 20mm, but the bearing size is 25mm, which is what I need. But I can't figure out how to get the insert out?

Any thoughts?

Here's what I got:

What I got

You can see the plastic center in that one, these others are supposedly direct replacements, but they don't appear to have the insert?

Similar but different

You can see the metal bearing in these...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

usually the plastic spacers are split design- should be able to see the split inside the bearing race. Usually just take a flat blade screw driver to the edge of one half and give a slight tap and it will pop right out.
